Lance and Lauren pontificate on all things television as well as the many, many, many people that annoy us.

Fall Tuner Pileup - Tuesday Nights
More in the riveting series of way too much information about shows I'll be watching this fall. What! Will! Make! The! Cut!
Again, showgrids are here: http://www.thefutoncritic.com/guide/fall-2010-grid/, and note that despite the fact that The Biggest Loser is on, I will not be watching it no matter what. Anyone dating Lance should take note of that and brace themselves accordingly please.

No Ordinary Family - ABC
Glee - FOX
No Ordinary Family has some of the biggest buzz of the fall, and what looks like a fun superhero premise (unlike Heroes, which was just continually mopey). Plus, the cast is pretty solid. Chiklis (wisely choosing not to try and top Vic Mackey by going lighter) and Julie Benz (who was a bit of a snooze on Dexter but lots of fun on Angel) anchor the cast, with Romany Malco and Autumn Reeser providing comic relief as their sidekicks. Malco was one of the funniest things about Weeds and 40 Year Old Virgin, which is saying a lot, and Reeser was one of the driving forces behind the last season of The O.C., which was much better than anybody seems to give it credit for. This show could end up being hokey, but I'll give it a few weeks to try and figure things out.
Glee I'll keep watching in the same fashion as I did this past year: fast forwarding through any part that doesn't involve Jane Lynch insulting people, Britney being weird, or Puck trying to get laid through thinly veiled racism and video game pontification. Those are the only worthwhile parts of the show, and by eliminating everything else I can get through an episode within 15 minutes and refrain from throwing things at my tv screen.

Raising Hope/Running Wilde - FOX
Really this is an empty hour. I'll give both these shows a week maybe based on Garrett Dillahunt and Will Arnett, but I don't have much interest or hope in either one. Dillahunt is a great actor and has proven good at both comedy and drama, but his show seems like a poor My Name is Earl retread, which wasn't a terribly great show to begin with. As for Running Wilde, I like Will Arnett, but GOB Bluth is really the only funny thing I've ever seen him do (though GOB is amazing enough that I tend to give Arnett a chance no matter what). Given that Wilde's creators are the same guys behind Arrested Development, maybe they know how to use the man in a way that nobody else seems to understand. They'll both get a look, but it'll take an impressive showing to keep them on the TiLoh.

Sons of Anarchy - FX
The best show on the night by far is Sons of Anarchy, which had a stellar second season and ended on a cliffhanger that was legitimately surprising and looks to expand the world of the show in a lot of ways. Most importantly, it keeps Katey Segal, Ron Perlman, and Titus Welliver all employed, which is never a bad thing. A great, dramatic, action-packed show that figured itself out after a rocky start and looks to top itself again this year.
Also, I didn't list it above, but this hour has The Good Wife on CBS, which I've never seen but my mom really likes, so feel free to watch that too. I would watch it I guess, but I watch too much stuff already and I don't know that it's got enough zip for me. Make up for me and make my mom happy and watch it, won't you people?
